An animated cartoon envisaging the kind of world that children of the future may well inherit when the last vestige of blue is blotted from the sky by the spreading mantle of smog. In this story a little boy sets out, equipped with celestial wings, to discover whether what an old man has told him is actually true, that there is blue above the grey. When he finds it he concludes that blue is where paradise is; the grimy earth is the netherworld.

Master Zacharius, the village watchmaker, dreams of giving a soul to the automatons he manufactures. A mysterious young man bursts in and seems to want to charm the watchmaker's daughter. After his passage, all the clocks go haywire, causing trouble. How far is Zacharius willing to go to get what he wants?

Juliette, a young woman of twenty-five, works unsuccessfully as a sales representative. Discouraged, on the point of giving up, Juliette meets Christian, a brilliant and seductive salesman, who offers her to play Pygmalion: he will be the master, she will be the pupil.
